This
national award winning attraction is our most popular activity as well
as the best way to start or add to a rock collection.
Each miner wears a hardhat equipped with a bright light to see in the
dark mine shaft.
When they enter, there are rocks, shells, and gemstones scattered all
over. It's like a big easter egg hunt, and anything that is found is
kept. This attraction is open to all ages, and is definitely fun and
entertaining. |

The cost to enter the Mine is
only $7 and the miners get to identify and catalogue over 200 gems,
fossils, shells, and rocks.
Kids and adults alike love the mining experience, and also love the
fact that they leave with a bag full of rocks to take home and add to
their collection. Come on in and try the mine today!

We have an identification display that
identifies any of the specimens found in the mine. Miners always know
what they found.
The
number of specimens found in the mine is now over 200. Anything that
these participants find, they keep. Everybody walks away happy, so plan
on stopping at the Rock, Fossil, and Dinosaur Shop on your next
vacation in Massachusetts!
